Chicargo Day 3

The insanity of the Blackhawks Stanley Cup Parade. There were children crying, lost children, people ready to pass out. It was madness. I don't know how my Anxiety and/or claustrophobia didn't kick in. Although there were small bursts here and there. I mean, people are literally holding on to the walls back there!

The man photographed here is one Trevor Clarke. He is, hands down, the best Couch Surfing host I've had in all my experiences. He knew every little corner, every well kept secret of his city. Not only that, but the man donates a butt load of his free time to various initiatives around the city, collecting bicycles for impoverished countries around the world, running city events like Iron Heart Chicago, or giving a chump like me an awesome bike tour of \Chicago--cuz he loves bicycles. AND he's one of those rare good-hearted lawyers who likes to help the little guy win. He's a saint, I tell you! If any couch surfers are ever in Chicago, hit this man up. You won't regret it.

Our tour included stops at a beautiful botanical garden, a dive of a restaurant that happens to be a Chicago landmark, where we happened to sit and chat with Robert Shaw, a man who has been involved in Chicago politics for 50+ years, and finally, a gem of a record store. Trevor then guided me to the Lookingglass theatre, where I had already purchased a ticket to see a production of Moby Dick. It did not disappoint.
