In April, my buddy, Perry, and I headed off on a three-week trek through Memphis, Atlanta, and Gulf Shores in order to attend the Memphis Beale Street Festival, Shaky Knees Festival, and Hangout Festival respectively. We couch surfed the whole way through, and met some really awesome people. Memphis was stop #1. The Rock 'n' Roll Museum, Gibson Guitar Factory, Sun Recording Studios were some of the city highlights.

Trying to match up to the flair of those outfits. It can't be done. |
My bed at our first couch surfing host. Cozy, it was. (Though Perry didn't think so when we swapped the second night.) |
Rachel's cat. Not very people friendly. |
Me and Perry's friend, Jorge, sharing a moment. (Yes, Jorge is an apple. Yes, my friends are weird.) |
Evan's cat. He was much more people friendly than Rachel's cat. |
My freakishly large iced tea. |
Saying goodbye to Jorge. (He didn't do too well with the heat.) |
Rudy Williams, a Memphis legend in the Beale District. |
This outfit belonged to a wrestler who was a huge fan of the blues. Elton John, eat your heart out. |
It's upside down. Just stand on your head. |
Isaac Hayes, everybody! |
The only picture I was allowed to take of the Gibson Guitar Factory. |

Not pictured, Mr. John Fogerty of CCR. He went on last on Saturday. The man ages well, I'll tell you that much. He could keep touring for years with that voice.
