Not gonna lie, I'm not entirely sure if I have these pictures in the right order, but let's just hope for the best and assume they are.

Based on the description I read online, it was supposed to be a short hike to Kabir Kouba Falls. It was actually just a flight of stairs. Oops. Pleasant surprise, though. |
Doris being Doris. Some sort of Karate Kid impression, maybe? |
I'm pretty sure after the Falls, we went to the Wendake Aboriginal Centre. Google Maps was frustratingly of little help in finding the bloody place, but at least Doris got some pleasure out of watching me curse at my phone. At first it took us to a random house, then to a school, and then down a road that seemed to be leading us towards an industrial area of some sort. Oh, technology... |

It's a small community--so small, that I believe there is one police car patrolling the whole neighbourhood--but they take great pride in their little community. In school--the same school Google Maps tried to take us to--children learn about their tribe's traditional way of living in order to retain their culture. The picture above is of a fireplace--one of three--in a longhouse. The longhouse was built for three families of 4-6 people each, The flame had to be on at all times. |

Mmmm...smoked meat. |
Hard to read, but it's a map laying out settlements for every tribe in the province of Quebec. |
The next day started with a trip to Old QC. There's our old friend, Frontenac. |
No trip to QC is complete without catching a busker performance. |
The always cute Notre Dame des Victoires Church |
Zip-lining Mont Sainte-Anne! |
Bravest 4 year old in the world. She wouldn't stop crying until her parents agreed to let her go zip-lining. |
The first of a couple camping outings on the trip. |
Also the first of Doris' many attempts to dethrone the Crazy 8 Countdown. |
Exploring the beautiful scenery. |
Taken outside an amazing cider shop |
From the island, we took a hell of a detour to check out Rimouski based on the suggestion from Uncle Terry. Unfortunately, we didn't get there in time before the submarine closed for the day. |
However, we were able to climb the awesome Pointe-au-Pere Lighthouse and learn about the Empress of Ireland, a liner that tragically sunk in 1914 after colliding with the SS Storstad and claimed 1012 lives. |
Next stop: Fredericton!
